June was a busy month for the garden club, with both our normal monthly meeting, maintaining a soft fruit garden, followed 3 days later by the Club’s major event of the year, the Annual Flower Show.
Our June speaker was Annette Hurt who gave an enthusiastic presentation on how to maintain your soft fruit garden. Annette covered all the major soft fruits we grow in the UK, explaining how to grow, prune, harvest and manage possible pests. Annette also gave a shout-out for local independent fruit growers where you can buy quality soft fruit plants to enhance your summer and autumn garden.
